following the steal like an artist book,
the question is…
who do i even want to be?
i. make a list of people who inspire you, and why
ii. look for for patterns
my thread is: the beautifully human creator
3 main pillars:
- deep authenticity, profound humanity
- human, authentic, real, unapologetically genuine, unique, relatable
- soothing, positive presence
- calm, peaceful, soothing, comforting, gentle, soft, hopeful, kind, encouraging
- masterful craft, inspiring intelligence
- talented, creative, artistic, intelligent, wise, well-spoken, strong
the people i admire the most sit at the intersection of those pillars,
i am drawn to people who have achieved a high level of skill or self-awareness,
while retaining their warmth, humility and humanity.
they are able to make people feel something through their craft, or simply through who they are:
peace, inspiration, connection.
iii. how can i learn from this all
- self-reflection, look within— what does this pattern even say about you? and where are you at?
- action, embody the traits your admire— find ways to cultivate what you look up to
- educate yourself, never stop being an apprentice of life
