following the steal like an artist book,

the question is…

who do i even want to be?

i. make a list of people who inspire you, and why

ii. look for for patterns

my thread is: the beautifully human creator

3 main pillars:

  1. deep authenticity, profound humanity
    • human, authentic, real, unapologetically genuine, unique, relatable
  2. soothing, positive presence
    • calm, peaceful, soothing, comforting, gentle, soft, hopeful, kind, encouraging
  3. masterful craft, inspiring intelligence
    • talented, creative, artistic, intelligent, wise, well-spoken, strong

the people i admire the most sit at the intersection of those pillars,

i am drawn to people who have achieved a high level of skill or self-awareness,
while retaining their warmth, humility and humanity.

they are able to make people feel something through their craft, or simply through who they are:

peace, inspiration, connection.

iii. how can i learn from this all

  1. self-reflection, look within— what does this pattern even say about you? and where are you at?
  2. action, embody the traits your admire— find ways to cultivate what you look up to
  3. educate yourself, never stop being an apprentice of life
