a pistol squat is a type of single-leg squat

i don’t remember when this started,
but i remember my first pistol squat in may 2024,

since then, i have been trying to include this into my routine to improve

  • mobility, flexibility and balance
  • muscle strength on my legs to support my knees
    • mainly this actually, especially after injuring my left knee while running a few years ago, i read that focusing on leg strength can help alleviate the effort put on the knees

alongside,
i have been using the bosu ball at the gym to work on my balance,

little by little,
i managed to pair pistol squats with bosu ball,

my left knee and leg in general do feel weaker than my right side,

but currently,
i can do 3 pistol squats on the bosu ball for each side,
i haven’t been the most consistent with it,

my goal for 2025 was 5 reps,
before slowly getting into another type of single-leg squat…
maybe the dragon squat next? 🐉
